REGENERATION OF CYLINDERS

A major benefit of the TRANSEC on-line drying system is the ability to tell how much water has been removed from the transformer.  The theoretical maximum capacity is approximately 11 litres from a CL3 unit.

The cylinders will be saturated when the ppm level at the input and at the output are approximately the same.  This may be established through MONITORING or by taking oil samples at the input and output sampling valves.

When any cylinders are supplied their individual weight is recorded on our database.  When they are returned for REGENERATION, they are weighed again, the increase in weight being the weight, and therefore volume of water adsorbed.

It is a simple task to remove the three cylinders using the quick release snap connectors at the top and bottom of each cylinder.  As part of the regeneration of cylinders an exchange service is offered by TRANSEC (UK) Ltd.
